Bayern Munich football school launched in Taicang, Jiangsu province, the hometown of German enterprises

According to Ye Dongtao, chairman of Taicang Football Association, Taicang has forged a deep fate with Germany through football. In addition to holding the “Sino-German Friendship Cup” Football Invitational Tournament, Taicang’s three-tier city Football League also attracted a group of German enterprises such as Schaeffler and mubel to join in. “Many German executives are still the main force of their teams. Like Schaeffler, half of the first starts were Germans.”
Bayern Munich set up a Chinese office in Shanghai in September, 2016 to introduce professional knowledge and youth training experience and carry out football youth training programs around the Yangtze River Delta. According to the plan, Bayern Munich will implement youth football training in Taicang High-tech zone High School and Taicang Mingde High School to improve Jiangsu youth football level and train football reserve talents.

Since the introduction of the first German enterprise Kern-libbers in 1993, more than 450 German enterprises have gathered in Taicang, making Taicang the famous Sino-German cooperation Highland. As of September, Taicang has added 40 German-funded projects this year, with a total registered foreign investment of more than 0.3 billion US dollars.
In recent years, Taicang’s cooperation with Germany has been expanding from economic and trade fields to culture, sports and other fields. Activities such as Germany Taicang Day, Germany beer festival, “Sino-German Friendship Cup” Football Invitational Tournament and Sino-German marathon are continuously improving Taicang’s popularity in Germany.
