Qatar World Cup final stadium to be unveiled design inspired by lanterns
Beijing, September 6 (Xinhua) according to the official news of Qatar World Cup organizing committee, the lucsel Stadium, the host of the World Cup final, will be officially unveiled on the evening of September 9 local time. The design inspiration of the stadium comes from the traditional Arab lantern (fanar lantern) the interlaced patterns of light and shadow apply many advanced technologies in the construction process.
Russell stadium will be officially unveiled on the evening of September 9, local time, and will hold ten matches during the World Cup in Qatar. It is also the stadium with the largest number of game session during the World Cup. In addition to the six group matches that all the courts will host, Russell stadium will also host the 1/8 finals, 1/4 finals, semi-finals and final finals. Lucier Stadium will stage the first World Cup show in the first round of Argentina’s match against Saudi Arabia in Group C on November 22, local time.
The design of this stadium is full of futuristic, inspired by the interlaced patterns of light and shadow of the traditional Arabian lantern (fanar lantern). The appearance and facade of the stadium echo Qatar’s traditional golden bowl and complicated decorations on other utensils, which is a prominent feature of the golden age of art and craft in the Arab and Islamic world.
The construction of Russell Stadium adopts sustainable construction method and waste water recovery system, which saves 40% of industrial water compared with the traditional stadium construction method, the recycled water is used to irrigate the plants around the site. The roof is made of the most advanced Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material, which can protect the stadium from the attack of warm wind, prevent dust from entering, and provide enough light for the stadium, at the same time, shade is provided to reduce the burden of the stadium air conditioning and refrigeration system. It is reported that after the end of the World Cup, the upper stands of the stadium will be reused, and the removed seats will be donated to communities lacking sports infrastructure. (Finished)
