Lang Ping said that volleyball and e-sports have something in common, and he also gave e-sports players a trick!
Beijing, Hangzhou, July 26 (reporter Wang Hao) on the 26th, Lang Ping, the former coach of the Chinese women’s volleyball team, appeared at the 2022 global e-sports Leaders Summit held in Hangzhou, where she shared the story of herself and e-sports. From the Jakarta Asian Games, she became curious about e-sports, and e-sports gradually became one of the common topics between her, her daughter and her team members. Lang Ping also gave advice to the e-sports players who will go to the Hangzhou Asian Games: calm down and stick to it.
In the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, e-sports entered the Asian Games as a performance project. At that time, Lang Ping, who was the head coach of the Chinese women’s volleyball team, also became curious about e-sports. “At that time, I didn’t have time to pay attention to the competition. Later, I thought I should also know about the e-sports competition, so I watched a competition from beginning to end, although I didn’t understand it very well.” She introduced with a smile.
Lang Ping said, “After I got to know something about myself, I found that e-sports is very influential in the world of young people, especially for my daughter and some players. They said, I heard that director Lang also paid attention to e-sports, and then talked happily with me about e-sports.”
“As an elder, it is also very important to have something in common with young people. Especially in the past few years when I led the team, besides focusing on volleyball, I also asked myself to be curious about new things.” Lang Ping said.
At the Hangzhou Asian Games to be held next year, e-sports will debut as an official competition for the first time, and Chinese e-sports players will strive to win honor for the country. At the scene, Lang Ping recalled the experience of Chinese women’s volleyball team conquering the Asian Stadium and going to the world when he was a member of the team.
“At that time, if you want to participate in the Olympic Games, you must win the Asian Championship. This was the first goal on the road to realize your dream. You must surpass yourself and history. In every volleyball training, our slogan is to practice basic skills hard, sit down and taste courage, rush out of Asia and go to the world. In order to reach a tacit understanding, we once practiced for seven hours.”
In Lang Ping’s view, volleyball and e-sports are quite different, but there are also common points. “It’s quite different. Volleyball is more about running on the court. E-sports players are more quiet. They have different needs. For example, they should be very focused on energy and the cooperation between eyes and hands is also very strict. What is common is team cooperation and on-the-spot strain.”
Combined with his past competition and coaching experience, Lang Ping also gave advice to the e-sports players who will participate in the Hangzhou Asian Games: “In terms of skills and tactics, everyone must have made a lot of preparations, the most important thing is psychological endurance and on-the-spot performance. It is enough to give full play to the usual training without reservation. Don’t add more pressure to yourself.”
Lang Ping said: “It is normal for you to lead or fall behind in the competition. You must maintain a normal mentality. In the face of different problems, we must adjust ourselves quickly. As long as there is no end, the situation on the court will change. I hope that e-sports players, whether in the lead or behind, must stick to the end.” (Finished)
