The 30-person nomination list includes 21 outstanding athletes and 9 outstanding coaches. According to relevant rules, in order to ensure the fairness of the recommendation work of the Hall of Fame, the current head of the Chinese Basketball Association is not among the nominees. Therefore, Yao Ming, currently the chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, did not appear in the nomination list.

It is reported that the first entrance scale of China Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is 25 Hall of Fame members and 1 collective-“25 Hall of Fame members” including 15 Chinese basketball predecessors who directly entered the hall, the other 10 members included 7 athletes and 3 coaches. “Five and Ten Heroes of basketball in New China” (selected in 1999 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of New China) led the group.

The recommendation scope of China Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame covers athletes, coaches, referees, special contributors, pioneers and collectives. Different recommendation standards are set for each category. For example, athletes need to retire for more than 5 years (including 5 years) to meet certain honor requirements; coaches have been teaching for more than 20 years (including 20 years). Only those who meet the relevant standards can participate in the recommendation activities.

China’s Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame recommendation activities include nomination, recommendation and final review.
